Cookie Policy
This Cookie Statement explains how Firstwork Solutions, Inc. and our affiliates (collectively “Firstwork”, “we”, “us”, and “our”), and our Customers and authorized third parties, use cookies, web beacons, pixels, tags, and similar technologies (“cookies” throughout for simplicity) when you use our Platform and other Services. It explains what cookies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control their use. Capitalized terms used herein, but not otherwise defined, have the meanings ascribed to such terms in our Privacy Policy, which can be found here
Please note that Firstwork acts as a service provider/data processor with respect to the Platform, and our Customers with whom Applicants apply have the ability to deploy cookies within our Platform. To determine what cookies are deployed by our Customers, the information those cookies collect, and the uses of that collected information, please refer to the cookie and privacy policies maintained by the Customer to whom you have submitted your information.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files stored on your computer or device to collect information, including Personal Information and data about your use of the Platform and Services. For instance, when you use our Platform or Services, we may send one or more cookies - a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters - to your computer or mobile device that uniquely identifies your browser, device, location, or other attributes capable of collection. When we or our Customers use cookies, the cookies may only last until you close your browser (called “session cookies”) or the cookies may last until they are deleted by you or your browser (called “persistent cookies”).
Cookies set by a website owner (in this case, Firstwork) are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies may recognize your computer when it visits the Firstwork website, the website of the company with whom an applicant is applying, and certain other websites.
Why do you use Cookies?
Cookies may enable us to recognize you as the same user who used our Services in the past to, among other things, protect your security, authenticate you as a user, enhance your experience on the Platform and Services (for example, by surfacing job opportunities close to your location or similar to those of interest in the past), and/or to collect general usage and aggregated statistical information for analytics and performance enhancement, including through service providers like Google Analytics.
Cookies may be included on our Platform or other Services, in our emails, or in other messaging to help Firstwork and our Customers understand Platform user actions and their behavior, for example, by counting the number of individuals who visit us online or verifying whether you’ve opened an email or seen one of our web pages.
We may use metadata or the data collected through cookies to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you use the Services; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information, including advertising; (c) provide and monitor the effectiveness of our Services; (d) understand how you use the Services; (e) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, usage, and demographic patterns on our website and our Services; (f) diagnose or fix technology problems; and (g) otherwise enhance our Services.
Do you use cookies for advertising purposes?
Firstwork, our Customers, and authorized third parties may deploy cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our Platform and other Services. These parties may use information about your use of the Platform and Services in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services that you may be interested in and to measure the effectiveness of these advertisements. The information collected through this process does not enable us or them to identify your name, contact details or other personally identifying details unless you choose to provide these. Please note that to the extent advertising technology is integrated into our Platform and Services, you may still receive advertising content even if you opt out of targeted advertising. In that case, the advertising content will simply not be tailored to your interests.
How can I learn more about cookies and my options?
To learn more about the use of cookies generally, including how to manage or delete them, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org/. In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com.
To learn more about how Google Analytics uses cookie information, please visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners, and to learn more about a plugin that will opt out of Google Analytics, please visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Most browsers can also be set to detect cookies and give you an opportunity to reject them, but refusing cookies may, in some cases, limit your use of our Platform and Services or certain of their features.
We do not control any of the above opt-out links and are not responsible for any choices you make using these mechanisms or the continued availability or accuracy of these mechanisms.
If you have any questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please email us at privacy@Firstwork.com.
What about Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track?
Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), also known as Do Not Track, is a browser and/or device setting that notifies websites or other digital services of a user’s privacy preferences, such as not to share or sell personal data without their consent, by sending a signal to each website a user visits. GPC and Do Not Track signals, protocols, and processes are not yet uniform, do not have widely recognized and agreed-upon standards domestically or internationally, and their regulation is nascent. We continue to monitor developments with respect to GPC and Do Not Track requirements and are taking commercially reasonable steps to honor such requests.
How often do you change your cookie-related practices?
We may update our practices and this Cookie Statement from time to time in order to reflect, among other things, changes to the cookies we, our partners and/or our Customers use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated Cookie Statement on our Website with a new effective date. If we make a material change to this Cookie Statement, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance of the planned change. The date at the top of this Cookie Statement indicates when it was last updated.
